Banque Libano-Française
The multi-year green strategy of Banque Libano-Française is based on actively participating in shaping environmental policies, developing eco-friendly products and services, adopting environmentally friendly practices at the workplace (such as the recycling of paper, e-waste and metal can), while raising green awareness among its internal and external stakeholders. Within the framework of a sustainable energy finance initiative between Banque Libano-Française and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), an ongoing program is providing the Bank with the necessary tools (energy calculators, staff trainings, green building assessment) and know-how to help Lebanese companies use resources more efficiently, enhance the competitiveness of their products and services and improve their profitability while protecting the environment. BLF was the first Bank to launch in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) the Earth Card, a card made of eco-friendly material, which contributes to funding environmental projects in Lebanon, an initiative which earned the Bank a National Green Award by the Ministry of Environment. The Bank also supports existing green initiatives such as the Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve, Jouzour Loubnan, AUB Issam Fares Institute: Climate Change Student Competition, etc.
