American University of Beirut (AUB)
The American University of Beirut (AUB) was founded in 1866 and is a private, independent, non-sectarian institution of higher learning that operates under a charter from the State of New York. AUB is located in Beirut, Lebanon on a 73-acre campus overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. A teaching-centered research university, AUB offers a rigorous curriculum in the American liberal arts tradition along with strong professional programs. The language of instruction is English. Academic programs are offered in undergraduate, graduate, medical, and professional education. AUB is a coeducational institution that is open to all qualified students without regard to race, religion, economic status, or political affiliation. The University is proud of its high academic standards and is committed to the principles of critical thinking, open debate, and diversity.
American University of Sharjah
Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ)
Applied Research Institute of Jerusalem (ARIJ )environment policy aims to provide the public with data about the status of the environment in Palestine, which can be used as the basis for formulating recommendations. Specifically, the water and environment research department at ARIJ which maintains a laboratory, hydroponics unit and a weather station, seeks to identify existing environmental problems, locating sources of environmental pollutants, and measuring the extent of their impact. Through the use of technology ARIJ also evaluates and tries to solve environmental problems; thus identifying the best scenarios for development trends and their effects on the environment. ARIJ conducts environmental consulting services and feasibility studies, including site assessment; design construction of landfills, and remediation activities. Particularly, the water and environment department aims to introduce and adopt feasible approaches in the management of waste, testing and introducing environmental technologies targeted towards reducing the solid-waste hazards and air pollution, and implementing pilot projects in the field of waste water. Accordingly, through focusing on the role of society in managing water resources, ARIJ is involved in installing friendly small and medium scale waste water treatment units in a number of Palestinian villages.
Azm University
Azm University is a private, independent institution of higher learning founded in 2015. It is licensed under Lebanese Law to grant the various Bachelor Programs within its Faculties and is governed by a private and autonomous Board of Trustees. Azm University has three faculties: Business Administration, Architecture, and Arts and Sciences. Currently, the University offers programs leading to Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, Architecture, Interior Design, Journalism and Media Communications, English Language, Education, Criminology and Chemistry. The official language of instruction is English.
Beirut Arab University
Beirut Arab University (BAU) is one of the largest private higher education institutions and one of the oldest universities in Lebanon. Such privilege combined with the advantages of the city itself, renders the university extremely attractive to would-be students. BAU is committed to preserving the important ties with Arabic and Islamic civilization and promoting its heritage, in addition to enforcing cultural and scientific collaboration with other Arab as well as international universities. BAU aspires to advance by strengthening the human condition and improving the quality of life.
