Hamza cooperated with AFED on various occasions, and was on the list of speakers at its annual conference scheduled in Beirut in November; he had confirmed participation in a message to AFED sent few hours before he was killed http://afed.me/299WjEU • Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP), Jeju Island, Korea, 6-7 September AFED Secretary General will participate as speaker in the GGKP's Fourth Annual Conference on the theme of Transforming Development through Inclusive Green Growth. The conference is being hosted by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), in partnership with the global university network Environment for Development (EfD) to ensure a wide range of views and research are represented at the conference http://www.greengrowthknowledge.org/ • Global Finance Roundtable 2016, Dubai, 25-26 October The Global Roundtable on Finance (GRT) will hold its 14th session in Dubai in October. GRT has become the most key global agenda-setting event on sustainable finance, bringing together hundreds of leaders from all parts of the financial system as well as from civil society, academia, government and the United Nations. AFED has been invited as organizing partner, with some corporate members and the Secretary General joining as speakers http://www.unepfi.org/grt/2016/ • AFED on UNESCO Advisory Group, July AFED Secretary General Najib Saab has been appointed by UNESCO as member of an international Expert Group to prepare a Global Declaration on ethical principles related to climate change. Morocco will host the first meeting of the Group in September. Saab serves also on UNEP's High Level Group (HLG) supervising the production of the Global Environment Outlook report. • AFED Annual Conference on 10-11 November 2016 at AUB, Beirut AFED 9th Annual Conference preparations are underway, with record number of confirmed high level speakers.
